Chad got into long range precision rifle competition in 2017 when he was invited to shoot a Guardian Long Range event in Lake City Michigan.  By 2019, he had set out to earn Pro status in the Precision Rifle Series and get an invite as one of the top 150 shooters in the nation to the 2019 National Pro series Finale.  He was able to achieve that goal as well as finish in the top 3 overall in the Midwest Region.

Chad's background is in Mechanical Engineering.  In 2019 he decided to get into chambering and building custom rifles and started 5X5 Precision.  This gave him a lot of satisfaction as well as control over his gear and  a deeper level of understanding of internal and external ballistics.  Chad has a constant drive for continual improvement and the #ScienceOfAccuracy.  This constant drive is apparent and demonstrated as he is a top level competitor in the Precision Rifle Series and he is known for helping newer shooters any chance he gets.  In 2021 Chad finished First in  Michigan , First in the Great Lakes Region, Top 10 in the PRS Pro series and he  took home the prestigious 2021 AG Cup.

Francis started  his journey as an amateur in 2019 in the Precision Rifle Series and was nominated by his peers for the Rookie of the year award the same season.    He is driven out of a desire to find new challenges and work to push beyond the limits of conventional wisdom.  After finding success at the local level by winning his first PRS local match, he quickly transitioned to challenging himself to win Pro Series matches across the country.  With over 57 matches in the last three years, he has earned 2 Regional Championships, 2 State Championships, combined 15 regional and national level wins, along with 30 Top 5 finishes.   He firmly believes that 5x5 Precision and his friendship with Chad Heckler are the driving force behind his success in the Precision Rifle Series.
